Chelsea are on the verge of bringing fan favourites Michael Ballack and Frank Lampard back to the club.
The midfield duo, who played a combined 799 games for the club, are reported to be close to agreeing deals to become official Chelsea ambassadors.
According to
the Mail, Blues director Marina Granovskaia is keen on the idea and has met with both Ballack and Lampard to try to convince them to return to Stamford Bridge.
Should they accept, the former players would act as representatives of Chelsea off the pitch at events such as pre-season tours and draws for tournaments in which the club takes part.

Retired Blues stars Carlo Cudicini, Paulo Ferreira, Eddie Newton and Tore Andre Flo are all currently official ambassadors, meaning Ballack and Lampard would be joining an esteemed group.
Lampard, 39, is Chelsea’s all-time record scorer having found the net 211 times in well over 600 appearances between 2001 and 2014.
Having lifted the Premier League, Champions League, FA Cup, League Cup and UEFA Cup with Blues, he later played for Manchester City and New York City, before retiring in 2016.
He now works as a pundit for BT Sport, helping to cover the network’s live Premier League and Champions League coverage.
Former Bayern Munich and Bayer Leverkusen midfielder Ballack turned out for Chelsea between 2006 and 2010, during which time he played alongside Lampard in Blues sides that won the Premier League, FA Cup and League Cup.
After retiring in 2012, he has also tried his hand at punditry, covering international tournaments for ESPN.
