Hello Guys,
Flashback to 2014/15 there were some artists we believe are there to stay for as long as their creativity is top-notch to place African on the world map. But today, it was a shock to find these artists career drowning gradually.
The YBNL Signee, Keshinro Ololade who is better known as Lil Kesh projected himself as the next street ambassador to take the throne from his boss Olamide back then in 2014/15.
His songs were played all over the street and were one of the new kids with the most musical influence and traction at the time. He had the biggest song that year, ‘Shoki’, well laced with street hip-hop tune and dance steps
As we all know every song he was involved in at the time was a hit back to back. The formerYBNL soldier had chart-topping singles and every DJ’s playlist wasn’t complete without garnishing it with heavy tunes like “Gbese”,“Efejoku”, “Is It Because I Love You” etc.
The young music star was a hot stuff and picked up several awards nomination on his way. Unfortunately, the 2015 Headies Awards fiasco was his biggest award loss yet. He hasn’t really recovered from that night.
But at this point, Lil Kesh’s career has hit a pause button or in a worse scenario taken a nosedive. The steep decline may have followed after he severed ties with YBNLcontractually to set up his own YAGI records.
In the last 18 months, Lil Kesh has not had a personal bona fide hit record.
Meanwhile, Mavin Records artiste Korede Bello stocks have diminished so bad in recent times. The singer used to be a favorite.
Korede Bello best moments include his verses on joint Mavin songs like “Dorobucci”, “Adaobi”. His biggest break came with a track he called “God Win”, with which he bagged awards.
“God Win” appeal to the widest audience in the country, both Christians, Muslims etc. Same Korede managed to keep up the tempo with otter chart-toppers like “Romantic” ft Tiwa Savage and “Do Like That”.
Ever since then his career has drowned. His debut album “Belloved” was just another body of work you always want to erase out of your memory like it never happened.
His attempts to stage a comeback yielded little success with singles like “Melanin Popping”, “Work It”, “Sote“, “2geda”, and lately “Stamina”.
It seems nobody wants to help them by saying the fact, but you will agree with me Lil Kesh and Korede Bello’s career has drowned since the past 18months
How much love do you have for your music stars? Nigerian music acts Lil Kesh and Korede Bello careers aren’t in the best form at the moment.
My fellow SeeGist, no left to you to select your choice.
